Maya & Mark’s Wedding
With Gabriela Sotomayor, we designed a destination-wedding package for the wedding of Maya Serban & Mark Tobin. The vintage postcard e-“Save The Date” would set the tone for the invitations. My sister wanted the essence of vintage travel posters for the invite itself. The bride and groom’s likenesses were stylized into recognizable characters, and the couple supplied us with a limerick they wanted to include. For the rsvp’s, we created hand-made luggage tags. Fictitious airlines, complete with logos for jetYES and NOAirline reinforced the destination theme, while keeping a light-hearted mood, something the bride and groom were focused on. The final package included a monogram, fusing Maya’s Israeli and Mark’s Irish upbringing. The project became a family affair when Gaby’s parents graciously designed the luggage in the rsvp’s, helped out with creating a unified color pallete from the Save-the-Date through the invite, while my mother and I, hand-trimmed, tied, and packaged each invitation.
Invite and rsvp.
